POLISI IAITH

Mae CDdWC wedi mabwysiadu’r egwyddor o gyfartaledd y Gymraeg a’r Saesneg a gadarnhawyd yn Neddf yr Iaith Gymraeg 1993.  
Mae’n ymrwymo i ddarparu gwasanaeth dwyieithog ac i sicrhau fod pob aelod yn gallu sgwrsio neu ysgrifennu a derbyn ateb yn yr un iaith.  

Felly mae CDdWC yn ymrwymo i:  

• gyfathrebu â’i haelodau yn ddwyieithog

• sicrhau bod bpob cyhoeddiad yn ddwyieithog
  
• alluogi pawb sy’n cysylltu â’r gymdeithas i wneud hynny yn Gymraeg neu Saesneg, pa un bynnag yw eu dewis iaith.

• cynnig yr hawl i ddewis pa iaith i’w defnyddio wrth ymwneud â CDdWC.

• cydnabod ei bod yn haws i berson fynegi barn neu godi cwestiwn trwy ddefnyddio ei iaih gyntaf.

• cydnabod fbod galluogi‘r rhai sy’n cysylltu â CDdWC i wneud hynny yn eu dewis iaith yn fater o arfer da, nid yn rhywbeth i’w oddef.

Mae’r canlynol yn nodi sut y bydd CDdWC yn gwireddu’r egwyddorion hyn yn ei gweithgareddau.

 Gohebiaeth ysgrifenedig:
Mae CDdWC yn croesawu gohebiaeth ysgrifenedig yn Gymraeg neu Saesneg a chaiff ei ateb yn iaith yr ohebiaeth wreiddiol.
Bydd gohebiaeth yn dilyn sgwrs bersonol neu sgwrs ar y ffôn yn digwydd yn yr un iaith a’r cysylltiad gwreiddiol.

  Negeseuon ffôn:
Bydd croeso i unrhyw un i siarad Cymraeg neu Saesneg wrth gyfathrebu â CDdWC ar y ffôn.

Cyfathrebu electronig:
Mae CDdWC yn croesawu gohebiaeth electronig, e-bost neu ffacs yn Gymraeg neu Saesneg a chaiff ei ateb yn iaith yr ohebiaeth wreiddiol.
Pe bai derbynnydd unrhyw ohebiaeth yn methu ei ateb yn yr iaith wreiddiol, yna bydd yn syth yn chwilio am ateb yn yr iaith honno heb oedi.

Cyfarfodydd a digwyddiadau eraill
Mae CDdWC yn trefnu llawer o gyfarfodydd a digwyddiadau. Ein nod yw galluogi’r rhai sy’n mynychu’r digwyddiadau i gyfrannu yn eu dewis iaith.

LANGUAGE POLICY  

The WFDS has adopted the principle of equality of the Welsh and English languages confirmed in the Welsh Language Act 1993. 
It is committed to providing a bilingual service and to ensure that all members can converse or write and receive an answer or reply in the same language.

Consequently the WFDS undertakes to:

• communicate with members bilingually
• ensure that all publications are bilingual
• enable all who contact the Society to do so in Welsh or English whatever is their chosen language.

In addition, the WFDS:

·         offers people the right to choose between Welsh and English to use when dealing with the WFDS

·         recognises that views and needs can be better expressed when using a preferred language

·         recognises that enabling those who contact the WFDS to use their preferred language is a matter of good practice, not a concession.

The following sets out how the WFDS will give effect to these principles in its activities.

Written correspondence:

The WFDS welcomes correspondence in writing either in Welsh or in English and will answer in the language of the original correspondence.

Correspondence following face-to face or telephone communications will be made in the same language as the original communication.

Telephone communication:

People are welcome to speak Welsh or English when dealing with the WFDS by telephone.

Electronic communication:

The WFDS welcomes electronic correspondence, e-mail or fax either in Welsh or English and will be answered in the language of the original correspondence.

When the recipient of any communication is unable to respond in the original language, a response in that language will be sought without delay, if that is requested.

Other meetings and events:

The WFDS arranges and conducts very many meetings and events.  Our aim is to enable those who attend the events to contribute in English or Welsh as they may choose.
